The Georgia Heirs Property Law Center is teaming up with Team Agriculture Georgia (TAG) and Golden Triangle RC&D are teaming up to provide legal support to Georgians with heirs' property. Their ultimate goal is to strengthen the state’s economy by supporting property rights.
Heirs’ property is family-owned land jointly owned by descendants of a deceased person who does not clarify their inheritance through an estate. This often happens when a landowner passes down their property without a will or deed to prove ownership. Lack of proof of ownership often makes it difficult for heirs to obtain federal benefits and makes them suspectable at third-party auctions. In Georgia alone, the total tax-appraised value of probable heirs’ property is $47 billion.
The Georgia Heirs Property Law Center offers comprehensive services to assist landowners with heirs’ property. They supply legal services for families with heirs' estates, work with clients to create estate plans that prevent heirs' property, and help families with home management and qualify for benefits.
For these services, you can call 706-424-7557 ext. 1 or email info@gaheirsproperty.org.
