Flint River Soil and Water Conservation District Announces First Annual “Cultivating Leaders Chapter Grant”
Baker and Calhoun County High Schools Awarded $500 Grants to Advance Agriculture Education
The Flint River Soil and Water Conservation District is proud to announce the launch of its first annual “Cultivating Leaders Chapter Grant,” designed to support and empower future agricultural leaders. Baker County High School and Calhoun County High School FFA chapters have been selected as the inaugural recipients of this prestigious grant.
Each school received $500 to further their agriculture education initiatives, providing vital resources for hands-on learning, leadership development, and community engagement. The grant underscores the District’s commitment to nurturing the next generation of agricultural professionals.
Baker County High School’s FFA chapter, led by John Gore, and Calhoun County High School’s FFA chapter, led by Kedrione Harris, will use the funding to enhance educational opportunities for their students through FFA and agricultural education programs.
“On behalf of Baker County FFA, we are incredibly grateful to the Flint River Soil and Water Conservation District for investing in our students,” said John Gore, Baker County high school FFA advisor. This grant will provide additional opportunities for our members to grow as leaders, expand their agriculture knowledge, and better serve our school and community.”

The Flint River Soil and Water Conservation District looks forward to seeing the innovative and impactful projects these FFA chapters will pursue with the support of the “Cultivating Leaders Chapter Grant.”
