The Georgia Soil and Water Conservation Commission is currently seeking to fill the position of Environmental Safety Worker. The GSWCC was formed to protect, conserve and improve the soil and water resources of the State of Georgia. The Commission's goal is to make Georgia a better place for its citizens through the wise use and protection of basic soil and water resources and to achieve practical water quality goals. The Commission headquartered in Athens has a professional staff whose primary duty is to serve and advance the goals of Georgia's Soil and Water Conservation Districts.

USDA Natural Resource Conservation Service

Georgia NRCS provides the state’s farmers and ranchers with financial and technical assistance to voluntarily put conservation on the ground, not only helping the environment but agricultural operations, too. NRCS conservationists provide technical expertise and conservation planning for farmers, ranchers, and forest landowners wanting to make conservation improvements to their land.

The FRSWCD works closely with NRCS to provide technical assistance to promote conservation practices. NRCS is currently hiring several field office positions in southwest Georgia.

Golden Triangle

The Golden Triangle RC&D (Resource, Conservation, and Development) Council is a 501(c)(3) organization made up of action-oriented volunteers and local leaders who identify problems, develop strategies and implement beneficial programs and projects in our member county area focusing on Land Conservation, Water Management, Community Development, and Land Management. The Golden Triangle RC&D Council is committed to natural resource conservation, community development, environmental protection, and cultural and historical preservation.

FRSWCD works closely with Golden Triangle in a shared vision of conservation and stewardship in southwest Georgia. Currently, Golden Triangle is hiring an Urban Ag Assistant.

Soil Conservation Technician

GACD, in coordination with the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), is seeking independently contracted Soil Conservation Technicians to serve in select locations in the State of Georgia. Soil Conservation Technicians will work as independent contractors who will be based daily at a designated NRCS Office and contracted by GACD. The Soil Conservation Technician will perform all duties and responsibilities as required by GACD and NRCS set forth in the subsequent contract. These duties will be completed on-site at the NRCS office designated.
