Protecting Georgia's Farmland

  • C.M. Stripling Irrigation Research Park 8207 Georgia 37 Camilla, GA, 31730 United States (map)

Georgia is projected to have the fourth-highest farmland loss by acreage in the nation by 2040. To reduce this loss, our state has developed significant resources and partners working to keep Georgia farming for generations to come.

Please join Athens Land Trust and statewide partners for a field day at the C.M. Stripling Irrigation Research Park in Camilla, Georgia, to learn about some of the resources available to help conserve and protect your farm. Guest speakers from USDA NRCS, Flint River Soil and Water Conservation District, American Farmland Trust, and Athens Land Trust will discuss strategies for on-farm conservation practices, in addition to long-term farmland protection with conservation easements and succession planning.

Attendees will get to tour the C.M Stripling Irrigation Research Park with UGA staff and network with additional resource providers at informational tables. Attendance is free with RSVP, and a complimentary lunch is provided.

You can register at bit.ly/farmlink2026. Please RSVP by May 29, 2026.
